Be especially careful of sales schemes and tactics by so-called "authorized dealers" that attempt to lure you into a purchase with tag lines emphasizing price, such as "lowest prices on Montblanc" or "we will not be undersold."

Consider that it is official policy of Montblanc, on a worldwide basis, to prohibit, on any internet-based site, the display of retail prices associated with images of its products. Consider further that the suggested retail prices for the Montblanc Classique collection (this is what most people consider the standard Montblanc pen) begin at $200 USD. As a result, logic suggests that any site that simply puts prices for Montblanc products on display (let alone, prices below $100) can only be selling unauthorized or, possibly, counterfeit items. If a particular retailer or e-commerce site fails to follow these basic policies and practices of an "authorized dealer", exercise reasonable judgment. In all likelihood, they are not, as they claim, an authorized dealer for Montblanc. And, wherever they may have secured their supply of "Montblanc" items, only one thing is for certain, they did not get them from Montblanc.
